What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Conduct research leading to scholarly publications in power and energy systems
- Write proposals to secure external funding and establish an independent research program
- Mentor students and participate in faculty decision-making within the department
- Contribute to curriculum development and provide classroom instruction and assessments
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution, conferred by the start of employment
- Research expertise in power and energy systems, including theoretical, simulation, and experimental aspects
- A promising track record in scholarship through refereed publications in conferences and/or journals
- Experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Significant contributions to topics such as electric power systems, renewable energy systems, and grid-edge power electronics
- Research interests in cybersecurity and/or artificial intelligence/machine learning as applied to electric power grid infrastructure
- Experience teaching related courses in an accredited higher education environment
- Proven experience in writing grant proposals
- Active participation in professional societies related to power and energy systems
