What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Teach and develop graduate and undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Conduct research leading to scholarly publications in power and energy systems
- Write proposals to obtain external funding and establish an independent research program
- Mentor students and participate in faculty decision-making processes
- Contribute to curriculum development and serve on various faculty and student-oriented committees
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution, conferred by the start of employment
- Research expertise in power and energy systems, covering theoretical, simulation, and experimental aspects
- A promising track record in scholarship through refereed publications in international conferences and/or journals
- Experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance, with the ability to maintain collegial working relationships
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Significant theoretical and/or experimental contributions to topics such as electric power systems, renewable energy systems, or smart grid technologies
- Research interests in cybersecurity or artificial intelligence/machine learning as applied to electric power grid infrastructure
- Experience teaching courses related to power systems, electric circuits, or energy conversion in higher education
- Experience in grant proposal writing
- Active participation in professional societies related to Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
