  The Medical College of Wisconsin has an exciting opportunity to join as our dynamic site Director at our growing Adult Ambulatory Surgery Center in Menomonee Falls, located 20 minutes north of Milwaukee, WI.

  Practice highlights

  • The Froedtert Menomonee Falls Ambulatory Surgery Center practice encompasses a medically directed team approach involving faculty anesthesiologists, anesthesiology fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers (CRNA and CAA)
  • The successful candidate must possess the ability to provide high quality anesthesia care to a complex patient population, working as part of an anesthesia care team
  • Successful candidate must be a great team player, excelling in communication and adaptability
  • Regional anesthesia skills are preferred
  • Must be board certified/board eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Have ability to obtain an undrestricted Wisconsin medical license and DEA license.

  Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Anesthesia

  Since 1965 when we established ourselves as an independent Department, we have experienced dramatic clinical, scientific, and academic growth; and throughout the years have consistently been recognized by our peers in the Medical College of Wisconsin and its affiliated hospitals for our leadership and innovation. Our faculty team currently includes 140 Anesthesiologists, 26 Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants, four mental-health specialists and 12 scientists dedicated exclusively to research.

  The faculty provides more than 63,000 anesthetics annually in more than 100 anesthetizing locations on any given day, considering all affiliate hospitals, operating rooms, and out-of-the-OR locations. Our team provides exemplary patient care through the consistent delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered medicine; education of both residents and advanced practice professionals; and the pursuit of research interests that will define novel therapies in a dynamic and growing academic environment.

  Milwaukee and Menomonee Falls

  Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, is located on Lake Michigan’s western shore. A metropolitan area with more than 1.5 million people, Milwaukee is an affordable, comfortable place to live, work, and play, big enough to be exciting and uncongested enough to get around easily. Milwaukee’s many neighborhoods have incredible charm, accommodating a variety of lifestyles, from high-rise apartments to small farms. Nestled along a magnificent bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, Milwaukee’s downtown is home to botanical gardens, museums, a theater district, the world champion Milwaukee Bucks, the Milwaukee Brewers, and many fine restaurants. The lake and its harbors are skirted by scenic parklands and provide first-class opportunities for recreation, including hiking, cycling, boating, and more.   Located in the southeast corner of Wisconsin, Menomonee Falls is a thriving suburb of Milwaukee. It is a wonderful community that has both the advantages of proximity to an urban environment and immediate access to outdoor recreational activities. The four-county area (Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties) has a population of 1.6 million.

  Patient Care

  We provide care in several different locations throughout the Milwaukee area, including:

  • Froedtert Hospital, a 689-bed Level-1 Trauma Center that features an Integrated Procedural Platform with state-of-the-art equipment and technology across 32 ORs, approximately 16 out-of-OR anesthetizing locations daily, an award-winning Birth Center and a highly rated Cardiovascular intensive care unit located at a bustling regional medical center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s largest city
  • Children’s Wisconsin, a 298-bed ACS-verified Level 1 Children’s Surgery & Trauma Center, and one of the nation’s leading pediatric hospitals featuring a 72-bed PICU, a Pain Management & Headache Center and an ambulatory pediatric surgery center
  • The Milwaukee VA Medical Center, a 196-bed hospital that is also home to a 5,000-square-foot simulation center
  • Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Froedtert West Bend Hospital, which are both smaller full-service community hospitals
  • Four ambulatory surgery centers in Wauwatosa, Oak Creek, Menomonee Falls, and West Bend; and
  • A Comprehensive Pain Practice provides multidisciplinary pain management at our dedicated Pain Management Center, the VA Pain Clinic, and for inpatients at our hospitals.

  Education

  Our education program is highlighted by our highly regarded residency program with positions for 80 physicians-in-training, including interns and residents. We also provide specialty training through ACGME-approved fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, Obstetric Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine and Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, and additional fellowships in Regional Anesthesia and Neuroanesthesia. Our dedication to training the next generation of physician-scientists is evidenced through our success in recruiting trainees into our NIH training grants (T32 and T35).

  In addition to our resident and fellow training programs, we offer a Master of Science in Anesthesia program – one of just 20 in the nation. We launched our program in 2016, recognizing a growing need for skilled anesthetists in Wisconsin and throughout the country. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.

  Research

  Research in the Department is internationally recognized for its contributions to calcium channel biophysics, vascular reactivity, myocardial protection, and experimental neurosciences, with a focus on traumatic brain injury and the physiology and pharmacology of pain modulation. Our research is supported by funding from the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin, the VA, American Heart Association and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, among others.
