- Earned doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in Social Work, Human Services, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching, particularly with non-traditional student populations.
- Professional experience in social service provider organizations.
- Familiarity with distance learning methodologies and instructional technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students in a culturally diverse academic setting.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) or an equivalent advanced degree.
- Established research agenda with a commitment to social justice, including community-based, policy, or action research.
- Clinical expertise with marginalized populations, such as LGBTQ+ communities, immigrant children and families, and other underserved groups.
- Strong professional network with the potential to support student recruitment and engagement.
- Ability to implement innovative pedagogical strategies that address academic and institutional challenges.

Summary
The School for Human Services at Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an academic appointment commencing in Fall 2025. The Human Services Program is designed to prepare professionals who are committed to social justice and equity, equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies in counseling methodologies, social policy, community advocacy, and organizational management. Faculty members engage students through rigorous coursework, interdisciplinary collaboration, and direct community involvement.
