What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide project management assistance to the Director of Real Estate Development and Project Managers, including documentation and coordination tasks
- Assemble funding applications for various governmental and financial institutions
- Prepare and maintain funding draws throughout the development phases
- Conduct community outreach and assess community assets and needs
- Perform due diligence on potential development sites, including title reviews and infrastructure evaluations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Some related work or field experience in affordable housing development, such as residential architecture, finance, planning, or construction
- Valid California Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate project files
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Business, or a related field
- Experience working at an affordable housing development company in California
- Familiarity with California LIHTC transactions and HCD programs
- Minimum of one successful LIHTC financial construction closing experience
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
