      Job summary

      Are you interested in a career with an established NHS Talking Therapies service based in Gloucestershire, are you dedicated, organised and passionate about mental health?

      We are excited to be able to offer an Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner role at our bases throughout our county to support our dedicated therapy teams in providing Low Intensity Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to our public. These roles will be relevant to those who are interested in starting a career as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). We pride ourselves with our training schemes and the opportunities we provide for job progression within the service and the high standard of therapy we provide to our public.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful candidate will assist PWPs in co-facilitating face-to-face and online psycho-educational courses to patients across the county. This involves presenting to groups of up to 35 patients at a time.

      Assisting in administrative tasks such as writing referrals, clinical notes and collecting data & feedback from patients.

      Developing our service by performing outreach to local teams within the trust, as well as external agencies and stakeholders such as GPs and local community groups.We offer regular opportunities for Continuing Professional Development as well as reflective practice in clinical supervision and have fully funded access to the Bespoke training service.

      Flexible working arrangements within 37.5 hours per week, with core service hours of 8am-8pm.

      We currently offer a hybrid working pattern for staff and the candidates will be able to request this on completion of local induction and their line managers discretion.

      This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.

      • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a subject enabling the post holder to demonstrate psychological mindedness eg psychology, social sciences or health OR Evidence of ability to study successfully at undergraduate year 1 level / Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 5 OR Mental Health Worker (e.g. mental health practitioner) with relevant primary care experiences

      Desirable

      • Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy

      Experience

      Essential

      • Significant experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
      • Able to facilitate large and small psycho educational groups
      • Ability to be organised, resilient, work under pressure and manage own personal stress

      Desirable

      • Ability with a computer-based information system and to record all client activity on the system
