Job Description

- General office management, including greeting students and visitors, creating a positive office environment, maintaining files, and managing supplies.
- Maintain student records and student attendance.
- Serve as primary contact for permissions within the REACH system, including managing invitations, verifying proper parental permissions for events, following through when students have not completed appropriate steps, updated permission records, and communicating with a dean about any unusual issues.
- Manage absences, including taking parent phone calls and updating the Veracross attendance record daily and in a timely fashion, and coordinating with the Health Center when relevant.
- Coordinate discipline paperwork and record keeping for the deans, including generating letters and maintaining the related databases.
- Monitor the attendance for convocations and maintain the scanning devices used to take attendance at those events.
- Generate reports as necessary.
- Schedule deans’ appointments and manage calendars as needed.
- Oversee switchboard and route phone calls as needed.
- Keep and oversee dormitory keys (distribution and collection, management of lost/missing keys throughout the year).
- Track and manage the Student Life budget, in conjunction with the Dean of Student Life.
- Coordinate with some outside vendors (laundry services, local UPS Store, prom service providers, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned.
- Support the Assistant Director of the Norton Center as they administer jobs for the community work program.
- Track attendance for assigned students in work jobs.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as with a wide variety of
constituents. - Ability to be flexible, to prioritize effectively, and to meet deadlines.

- Experience in Veracross/Axiom systems or ability to quickly learn and adapt to system management.
- Experience working with adolescents in independent school environment preferred.

The Loomis Chaffee School Alumni/Development Office seeks an The Assistant to Deans of Student Life is responsible for administering key areas of the student experience and supporting the management of the community work program. The Assistant to the Deans of Student Life will help manage the Student Life Office as well as attendance, permissions, and discipline in collaboration with the class deans. This is a 10-month, full-time position.
