      POSITION OVERVIEW

      The Associate / Analyst, Middle Office reports directly to the Director, Contract Management and will focus on daily activities related to processing daily trading activity and developing the daily reporting and analysis required for operations.

      KNOWLEDGE

      Ideal candidate possesses knowledge of and has experience within Mid Office Operations and understands techniques and analytical tools, in addition to a working knowledge of, commodity transactions, contracts and confirmation processing.

      RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

      • Assist in monitoring of deals and amendments to ensure trade accuracy in compliance with underlying documentation.
      • Provide support to confirmation process including investigation of differences in trades with both Front Office, Middle Office and counterparties.
      • Assist in the contract review and coordination of approvals for execution of enabling agreements.
      • Process daily reconciliation reports and identify parties requiring tax certificates or deals and/or counterparties requiring action to resolve reconciliation deficiency.
      • Assist on any ad hoc projects or requests and become cross-trained to help handle daily functions to create efficiency within the group.

      QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)

      Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

      Experience:

      • Associate: 0-2 years’ experience preferably in trading and/or marketing. Understanding of gas marketing activities, including transportation, storage, financial transactions and trading platforms is preferred. OpenLink Endur experience is a plus.
      • Analyst: 2+ years’ experience preferably in trading and/or marketing. Understanding of gas marketing activities, including transportation, storage, financial transactions and trading platforms is required. OpenLink Endur experience is a plus.

      Preferred Skills:

      • Interest and understanding of natural gas markets.
      • Ability to communicate with people of different professional backgrounds.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
      • Self-motivated and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
      • Strong technical skills in MS Excel.
      • Must work well cross-functionally with all internal stakeholders.

      This position requires minimal supervision over work assignments.

      WORK CONDITIONS

      • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
      • Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.
      • Periodic travel as business requires.
