Job Description

- Performing complex financial analysis and valuations.
- Modelling the impacts of the returns either to the business or within the portfolio.
- Preparing marketing materials for both internal and external use (co-investor reporting packages, quarterly reporting, investor day presentations, etc.).
- Assisting in the preparation and review of all internal fund reporting.
- Assisting operating management teams and asset management colleagues with other corporate development transactions as required, including financings, acquisitions, dispositions, business plan forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Attending regular quarterly board meetings for the companies, helping in preparation of materials where required.
- Writing investment committee memorandum and presenting investment recommendations.
- Maintaining industry data / summarizing publicly available information on a regular basis.
- 3-5 years of experience in real estate investing, investment banking, M&A, and/or private equity
- Existing knowledge of office operations and capital markets
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling and valuation skills, ideally with a real estate and/or corporate focus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Project planning and self-management skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced and team-oriented environment
- Meticulous attention to detail is essential
- Fluency in French and/or German is an asset
- Proficiency in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Role Overview
Brookfield Properties, the operating company within BPG, is seeking an Associate who will work directly with a wide range of office real estate portfolio companies controlled by Brookfield including Alstria, Befimmo, and other European investments held within both Brookfield’s opportunistic private equity funds and direct balance sheet investments. The Associate will assist with the strategic decision making, investment activities and reporting activities of real estate companies owned by the BSREP series of opportunity funds and direct balance sheet investments. Brookfield takes an active oversight approach with its portfolio companies, specifically regarding major investment, divestment, financing, and operational decisions. The successful candidate will require regular interaction with both senior leadership of Brookfield and senior management of portfolio companies within the office sector.
