Position Summary: The Associate Brand Manager position on Sharpie will support the development and execution of strategic brand initiatives that drive brand growth and maximize value share. The role is a critical team member responsible for utilizing data and insights to build marketing and business plans that deliver on financial goals. • Collaborate across the business units with all key functions and be recognized as a key leader in driving the cross functional team and agenda – Sales, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Distribution, Customer Service, IT, Finance, HR, Legal – as well as centralized support teams to drive profitable sales for Paper Mate • Conduct analysis regularly to understand why business lines are delivering or under delivering and providing recommendations to improve brand performance • Manage several brand projects and ensure delivery on time and in full • Support annual brand strategy and planning work Key Responsibilities: • Help build annual brand marketing and business plan • Deliver monthly brand reports on time and with satisfactory commentary • Build and manage a forecasting model • Help the team deliver demand forecasts within the acceptable error range • Uncover growth opportunities through analytics • Exhibit strong collaboration • Connect and understand multiple data sources and utilize them to drive business improvement recommendations • Monitor and analyze brand performance metrics, competitive activities, market trends, and consumer feedback to assess the effectiveness of innovation, promotions, and other brand initiatives • Develops an understanding of the underlying drivers and interaction of each metric • Identifies gaps in marketplace understanding and leads analyses to fill these gaps • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate key findings and recommendations to the Brand Manager and senior management • Analyzes velocity of current products and identifies distribution loss threats • Analyzes competitors to determine areas of weakness to attack for market share gain • Conducts analysis on share of shelf and uncovers opportunities for growth and threats of discontinuation. Proactively recommends solutions. • Owns global assortment and merchandising recommendations • Reviews competitor performance and items to identify best practices, threats and opportunities. Generates learning on how we improve Newell performance. Required Experience/Qualifications: - A four-year college degree, MBA preferred. - 2+ years of prior experience in brand management, marketing, or related roles is preferred. - Desire to function as a business owner and a passion for brand management. Demonstrated ability to deliver results. - Strong understanding of marketing principles. - Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and develop insights. - Creative thinking and problem-solving skills. - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Strong communication skills, written and oral. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with marketing analytics tools. - Up to 10% travel potential. - Fluent in English. - Newell Brands and its subsidiaries are Equal Opportunity Employers and comply with applicable employment laws.
