Position Summary
• Responsible for assessing spiritual needs, provides spiritual care and pastoral
counseling to patients/families/employees.
• The fundamental function of the Chaplain Associate is to make tangible the
presence of God as he/she provides pastoral ministry in the health care setting.
• The Chaplain Associate assists individuals with spiritual and emotional
integration of their current health crisis and brining a positive outcome .
Principal Accountabilities

Education
• I: High School diploma or equivalent
• II: Associate’s degree preferred
• Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree and Clinical Pastoral Education expected.
Licenses and Certification
• Licensed or Commissioned to Ministry by Church
• Ordination optional
• Endorsement by local church, diocese, or denomination
Experience and Skills
• Technical Experience: 1 year
Physical Activities
• Intermittent hand manipulation required
• Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds
Role Specific Responsibilities
o Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to the patients, families
and staff daily. Determine spiritual needs and a plan of care.
o Works with area Ministers
o Proactively participates in inter-disciplinary delivery of holistic patient
care services through rounding, inter-departmental meetings, and family
conferences.
o Provides appropriate pastoral care through the sacraments, ordinances,
rituals and blessings as needed.
o Maintains appropriate follow-up care with patient/families.
o Performs other duties as assigned.
Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
