      Protect and Serve the Public Interest Through Municipal Law as an Associate City Attorney


      The City of Greensboro, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Associate City Attorney to provide a full range of legal services within the City Attorney's Office. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our community through your legal expertise.

      Compensation and Benefits:


      Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $82,550 - $108,619 Full Salary Range: $82,550 $147,722

      Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position will also require an Attorney to be on-call after hours on a rotating basis.

      About the Role:

      As an Assistant City Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advice and representation to the City, including the Chief of Police, police officers, Greensboro Fire Department, and Guilford Metro 911. Your responsibilities will include reviewing laws, drafting legal documents, advising on legal matters, and representing the City in civil litigation.

      What You Bring:

      Minimum Qualifications :

      • Juris Doctor Degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
      • North Carolina law license in good standing.
      • Four to six years of experience practicing in municipal law or equivalent legal experience.


      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience in Administrative, Constitutional, and Municipal law.
      • Experience in litigation in both state and federal courts.
      • Experience in jury trials in Federal District Court and/or State Superior Court.
      • Experience in policy review and writing.
      • Experience with Public Records Laws.
