      Job Description

      What is the opportunity?

      RBC Corporate Client Group is a team of senior coverage officers and credit experts providing a comprehensive range of Corporate Finance solutions to private mid-market and small cap public Canadian corporations.

      You will be responsible for key attributes, along with credit analysis, researching, analyzing, and preparing materials that support the deal structuring, client and internal presentation, and internal business & risk approval processes of the CCG team.

      What will you do?

      • Support CCG bankers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions
      • Support team credit submissions, including research, analysis, financial modelling and due diligence as part of transaction processes
      • Supporting, and contributing to idea generation activities through research, analysis of company financial statements as well as industry and market information, and preparation of client presentations
      • Assist with loan portfolio management, client strategies and related administrative duties
      • Engage with RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, Specialized Financing (Asset Based Lending, Leasing, Trade Finance etc.), Personal Banking, and others

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must have:

      • Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills with an ability to analyze company financial statements and prepare financial models
      • Knowledge of credit, credit metrics, and credit structuring
      • Capability to work through Loan Agreements and other legal documents, with minimal supervision
      • Strong skills with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to source data/research
      • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, responsibilities and devote appropriate attention to each assignment while working on multiple projects
      • Work experience in Corporate Lending / Corporate Finance / Financial Analysis

      Nice to have:

      • Preference given to individuals with an MBA, CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFA
      • Prioritize work, and multi-task
