      Job Description

      We are looking for a junior attorney to support various AMC businesses that acquire content and develop, produc e, and distribut e original content – both scripted and unscripted long form content . This role will get exposure to other aspects of AMC’s business from brand franchising to corporate . This position r eports to Counsel, L egal & Business Affairs.

      RESPONSIBLITIES:

      • Draft , negotiate and review various development and production-related agreements in connection with original ly produced content for AMC, WE tv and SVOD service ALLBLK .

      • Research and summarize contractual rights in connection with original content and select joint ventures .

      • Counsel stakeholders at the various business unit s regarding interpretation of contractual rights and other legal issues related to production , distribution and corporate matters .

      • Draft and negotiate various license agreements and vendor agreements relating to brand franchis ing .

      • Draft content acquisition agreements .

      • Provid e advice and risk assessment on rights and clearance issues , including creative and content vetting .

      • Assist in continually revising and improving form agreements .

      • Assist in providing day-to-day business and legal support to acquisition, development, production and brand franchise business unit s , as well as other connected b usiness unit s as needed .

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • J.D. from a top law school, strong academic credentials .

      • Member of NY or CA Bar in good standing .

      • Minimum 2 years relevant experience, including experience at a la w firm with an emphasis on drafting and negotiating contracts. Ideal experience would also include in-house legal or business affairs department of a studio , advertising agency, production company or other comparable media company .

      • Familiarity with TV development, production and distribution (including digital/streaming platforms) and union and guild issues .

      • Excellent negotiating, drafting, analytical and communication skills (written and oral), and ability to work with others within group and across divisions .

      • Self-starter with a v ery strong attention to detail .

      • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines .

      • Eagerness and ability to learn and retain new substantive matters quickly .

      • Ability to juggle a high-volume work flow and adapt to shifting priorities .

      • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving and sound judgment even in ambiguous situations .

      • Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams .

      • Strong analytical and computer skills .

      The base compensation range for this position is $120,000.00 to $135,000.00, commensurate with experience.
