What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations
- Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing
- Document files clearly and professionally to ensure understanding among clients and colleagues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, and/or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the Texas Bar REQUIRED
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Texas and meet Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements
- Must be able to travel as required for trials, hearings, and meetings
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in civil litigation
- Knowledge of insurance defense-related litigation
- Strong communication skills, both in person and through written correspondence
