      The Hartford’s Tech, Data, Analytics and Cyber organization is seeking entry-level talent to build careers in Data Engineering at locations that include Hartford, Connecticut and Charlotte, NC. In this role, associates will grow in the Data Engineering track, providing development support on The Hartford critical data assets. Associates will be provided an immersive training opportunity to build skillsets needed to participate in the entire software development lifecycle process in support of information data projects and grow with emerging technologies and processes. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

      Responsibilities

      • Participate in immersive instructor led and/or self-directed training relative to data engineering and The Hartford’s best practices
      • Partner with various parts of the organization to build a working knowledge of the organization, business, processes, and its customers
      • Learn and utilize data pipelines build using Python, ETL, PL/SQL and cloud native technologies to develop data assets that support organizational decision making via prototyping, data discovery, profiling, etc.
      • Leverage data mining and Business Intelligence tools to analyze large amounts of data identifying relationships and patterns within the data
      • Solve a range of core business and technical questions through data analysis
      • Engage in work that is guided by more senior members of the team

      Qualifications

      • Bachelors degree – May 2024 graduates
      • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.0 scale) at the time of graduation
      • Desired majors include, but are not limited to: Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, and Business
      • Desired candidates have prior Data Analysis and/or Data Engineer competencies
      • Provide evidence of previous knowledge using Python, SQL, GIT and any programing language
      • Understanding of current and emerging IT products, services, processes, and methodologies

      Compensation

      The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

      $68,080 - $102,120
