- Prior experience teaching in an online higher education environment

The Opportunity
The Associate Dean is a full-time member of the University staff who supports the operational needs, strategic direction and initiatives of Southern New Hampshire University's College of Online and Continuing Education (COCE). The Associate Dean reports to the Executive Director or the Senior Associate Dean and will lead a team of Faculty Leads, Clinical Faculty and Technical Faculty, as assigned. The Associate Dean possesses knowledge of the assigned academic unit and can help implement strategic initiatives by bringing to bear their knowledge, strengths and skills, while ensuring the daily health of academic programs.
The Associate Dean is absolutely committed to maximizing the likelihood of learner success in high-quality academic programs. The Associate Dean ensures understanding of the mission and goals of COCE and the University. You are well-versed in and connected to the national conversation regarding higher education, particularly around learner outcomes, general education, workforce needs and different learning modalities such as competency-based education. In addition to being well-informed about higher education administration and learning models, you will engage with SNHU leadership on how to create operational excellence as COCE moves toward the next evolution of higher education learning environments. To be successful you must "know how to build the box and when to think outside of it".
The Associate Dean uses data to support decision-making and continuous improvement. You will enable the continuous improvement process and work in close collaboration with other Associate Deans as their primary team, and with other team members throughout the organization.
The Associate Dean is critical to ensuring a culture of excellence, while engaging in efforts to develop the next-generation ecosystem of content, technology, systems, value opportunities, delivery and faculty models, and assessment strategies as COCE seeks to serve the needs of tomorrow's learners and employers.

Ensuring a Solid Foundation - The operational accountabilities of the Associate Dean are based on a combination of the following tasks:
o Curriculum Development and Oversight
o Stakeholder Collaboration
o Faculty Recruitment, Management, and Support
o Learner Success and Engagement
o Quality Assurance across Curriculum, People, and Processes
o Accreditation, Governance, Policy Development and Enforcement, and Compliance Support
o Team-based Culture Development, Support, and Success
Building toward the Future - In alignment with the strategic priorities to shape the success of Southern New Hampshire University and COCE, Associate Deans may support some combination of the following:
