Rate of Pay: Payband 13 ($122,699 - $153,374 per year)

Reporting to the Dean, Continuing Education and Academic Development, the incumbent will be responsible for providing people, financial, and strategic leadership over Teaching & Learning and Curriculum Quality teams. The position oversees and supports the following critical areas:
What you’ll bring to the role:
This role requires effective cross-institutional collaboration with broader college community across Academic Development, the Academic Schools, International Education, the Centre for Indigenous Relations, Knowledge, & Learning (CIRKL), Information Technology, Institutional Research, and other areas as well as the sector.
The Associate Dean oversees the management of full and part-time Faculty and Support Staff, and thus requires understanding how to optimize the contributions of employees and proactively manage in a unionized environment.
The successful candidate will have the ability to implement programs and services to meet the current and emerging development and training needs of faculty and other teaching and learning allies as well as support processes to ensure quality curriculum in alignment with institutional and Ministry policies and guidelines. In addition, the incumbent must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a collaborative and productive working environment as articulated in the Vision, Mission, Values, and Strategic Directions set out by Mohawk College. This position also requires vision and leadership to engage and develop faculty to enhance student learning experiences.
The incumbent will also be responsible for providing leadership for key Centre activities and projects in order to ensure the alignment to the current and future strategic direction of the College.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, preferably in Education or Learning Technologies or equivalent, and several years of teaching experience (preferably in the college sector), coordination and/or management experience in the post-secondary sector.
This position requires experience in administration or management, preferably within the college system. The incumbent will need to be organized, and able to multi-task.
The incumbent must be a self-directed team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; be able to create and maintain effective relationships and working partnerships within and outside the organization; and possess negotiation and problem-solving skills gained from collaborating across multiple constituencies and/or within a unionized environment are essential.
This position requires demonstrated understanding of how the teaching and learning environment/program and curricula create the conditions for an exceptional and supported student experience. The candidate should have experience and knowledge of the intersections of Indigenous education, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Equity Diversity and Inclusion as they relate broadly to curriculum/program development and teaching and learning. Fostering collaboration and relationships to further shared institutional objectives with CIRKL (Centre for Indigenous Knowledge and Learning) will be critical.
The incumbent should have experience and a strong understanding of how teaching and learning is and can be mobilized virtually including through the use of innovation delivery modalities and educational technology platforms.
