Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Dean, the Associate Dean is responsible for the delivery of Nursing educational programs and services at the CBE Campus. Responsibilities include:

1. Collaboration and consultation with faculty to promote maximum commitment and results
2. Maintaining high standards of teaching, scholarship, and service
3. Maintaining programmatic accreditation
4. Completing and administering budget allocations
5. Recruiting, hiring, and evaluating faculty; approving faculty teaching loads
6. Developing and maintaining collaborations with other colleges/programs for inter-professional educational opportunities
7. Working with the School of Nursing in relation to planning and assessment and representing the program in the community at large.
8. 20% of role will be teaching students within CBE Nursing programs.

Essential Functions:

· Supervisory and Admin Responsibilities in CBE Nursing Programs

· Teach in CBE Nursing Programs (20% teaching)

· Maintaining compliance in all aspects of the CBE Nursing programs and all applicable program tracks (CCNE, state BON, ACEN, etc.)

Requirements

Licensure: Active unencumbered licensed to practice professional nursing, compact multi-state license preferred.

Education: A minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing required, doctorate preferred.

Experience:

· Minimum three years of full-time clinical experience in a professional setting in the role of a Registered Nurse required.

· Experience as an educator in post-secondary education required.

· Experience in nursing leadership/ management preferred.

· Evidence of effective teaching, service, scholarly activities leadership, and management skills.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

· Knowledge of current evidence-based professional nursing practice.

· Knowledge of teaching and learning principles of adult education, including nursing curriculum development, administration and evaluation.

· Excellent leadership, public speaking and oral communication skills in order to convey knowledge face-to-face with students.
