- Assist category designers into researching new ideas, materials and trims
- Present ideas and design concepts to Design Directors and category designers
- Work proactively according to development calendar to stay ahead of timelines
- Create and maintain visual line list decks and presentations decks.
- Develop digital presentation boards, and setup product displays for milestone meetings
- Work proactively according to development calendar to stay ahead of timelines
- Create technical specifications for textile product developments, comment on samples, and send product approvals in PLM
- Maintain and organize samples and fabric libraries
- Regularly shop competitors to keep abreast of trends
- Must provide a link to online portfolio with password on resume, or PDF of work samples with application
- Degree in Textile Design, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of textile design work experience, preferably in-home furnishings
- Must be highly efficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Must be skilled at CAD, and able to manipulate artwork, mockups and generate colorways
- Experience developing product directly with factories is a plus
- Understanding of product development from concept through commercialization
- Knowledge of textiles, fabrications, printing and manufacturing techniques
- Passionate about design, art, color & textiles with a strong sense of color
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to change
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented – excellent calendar adherence and ownership

Seeking an Associate Designer to support the Design Directors and category designers in the design and development of West Elm textile product. Responsible for helping to develop seasonal concepts and ensuring all product development deadlines and key calendar dates are met.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $55,600 -$60,300. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
