      This position has a pay range of $70,000 to $80,000 per year.

      The Associate Director, Annual Campaigns and Digital Fundraising is an integral member of Samarita's Fund Development Team, driving revenue and engaging new and existing donors statewide. The role grows annual operating support year-over-year through creative and best-practice mail, digital, and individual engagement strategies for giving campaigns. The individual builds the donor pipeline to attract, convert and retain donors and increase revenue. The current plan includes tribute, year-end, spring, and Giving Catalog campaigns. The team member will develop and implement additional issues-based campaigns to attract greater community support for relevant and impactful housing, refugee, workforce, mental health, and child and family service needs. The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director, Fund Development. Samaritas offers a supportive, hybrid work environment with the flexibility of mostly remote work. The primary office hubs are located in Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan, and moderate in-person travel is expected to one of these two locations.

      Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement and track the multi-channel annual giving plan to engage current donors and to acquire new donors to achieve annual fundraising revenue goal. Lead the development of a comprehensive plan for each appeal, identifying the target audience and conducting data analyses so that financial goals are achieved.
    • Apply direct mail/print, digital, social, and targeted audience approaches. Coordinate collateral production with the marketing and communications team.
    • Establish, track and report data metrics that analyze campaign performance, inform campaign fundraising methods and messages, and apply insights to optimize future appeals/campaigns.
    • Increase donor acquisition through online lead generation, targeted donor persona engagement, and conversion campaigns. Recommend optimal segmentation, key messaging, and channels for annual giving and digital fundraising with a strong focus on email lead generation conversion. In partnership with marketing team, ensure email list health and growth.
    • Responsible for the research, identification, development and execution of new products and services for donor experience, retention, stewardship, and recruitment (i.e. Ambassador Circle, Impact Reports, membership giving club, radiothon etc.)
    • Work with the fund development team, Chief Growth Officer, and potentially the Board of Directors and Foundation Board for annual donor stewardship campaigns.
    • Coordinate with external vendors and internal departments to achieve project timelines, revenue, and expense targets. This includes collaborating with graphic designers, printers, mail-fulfillment vendors, and key program staff.
    • Prepare and oversee the annual revenue and expense budget for annual giving programs.
    • Serve as an ambassador for Samaritas actively seeking Michigan opportunities to engage and promote Samaritas and drive growth.
    • Travel to special events, community networking, donor visits, team meetings required. Travel expected 2-3 times per week.

      Job Qualifications

      Required Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

      • Bachelor degree preferred.

      Required Experience

      • 3 years managing a large annual fund program preferred
      • 2 years of progressive experience in digital fundraising or digital marketing preferred.
      • Experience in Raisers Edge and Hubspot CRM.

      Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Ability to effectively manage multiple and complex projects.
      • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to prepare and write persuasive appeals, cases for support, editorials and emails. Strong public speaking skills.
      • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
      • Keen attention to detail.
      • Ability to relate effectively and work interdependently with all levels of staff, and with the public, congregations, corporations and foundations.
      • Knowledge of and ability to use with sophistication, computer software such as Microsoft office programs, Raisers Edge donor database system and Hubspot CRM for digital engagement.

      Additional Work Requirements

      • Valid unrestricted driver license with good driving record. Valid proof of automobile insurance.
      • Occasional extended and evening hours required.
