- Building and maintaining relationship with existing clients
- Onboarding new clients who is active in structured credit space
- Helping execution and negotiation of transactions
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of products and services
- Coordinate with other sales teams across the firm to identify cross-sell opportunities and drive revenue growth beyond structured credit products
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for market share expansion
- Providing regular updates on sales activities, progress, and results
- Participate in industry events and conferences to promote the firm’s structured credit product capabilities and build relationships with key industry participants
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk

- Support the overall Sales strategy for product development within the region, as well as in the department. Expected to make contributions and provide marketing ideas in order to help maximize client opportunities
- Expected to be up to date with compliance rules and regulations both internally and externally. Must be aware of the current regulatory environment/supervisory structure of the local financial markets, securities regulations
- Bachelor's degree (master's degree a plus but not necessary)
- Proficiency to communicate in both Japanese and English. Ability to speak other Asian language (Korean and/or Mandarin) will be a plus but not necessary
- Strong personal attributes include: Enthusiasm, initiative, persistence, result-driven, attention to detail, and maintaining high performance standards
- Client focused mindset - strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage priorities & the ability to work under pressure
- The incumbent needs to display team player mindset
- Sound knowledge of the bank’s organization, policies, procedures, operations, internal control to ensure adherence to all controls processes and procedures
- Pass the JSDA Sales Representative Class 1 Exam in order to engage in front office activities of SSAL Tokyo Branch
- In order to keep compliance rules, the incumbent needs knowledge of the regulatory/ supervisory structure of the local financial markets, securities regulations and industry best practices I standards
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Moderate travel domestically, internationally, and globally.

Contributes to the overall success of Structured Credit Group in Asia, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies, plans and initiatives in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The group will be focusing on both broadly syndicated and middle market CLOs, Credit Facilities, as well as ABS products as the group grows. The incumbent will help build this business and be responsible for cultivating direct relationships for the bank enabling us to further source and develop opportunities.
