      What is the opportunity?

      Reporting into the Director, Commercial Mortgage Finance, you will be responsible to manage RBC’s commercial mortgage information database and various pipeline reporting which will help in providing senior management with a holistic view of all the commercial mortgage products nationally. You will also assist in managing all aspects of the CMBS securitization process and be an active and integral part in our education and development efforts with Investors, Rating Agencies, co-sellers, and other third-party providers.

      What will you do?

      • Maintain and continuously improve underwriting models used in various RBC commercial mortgage products

      • Manage information database and pipeline reporting for various RBC commercial mortgage products including CMBS, RBC GAM, and CMHC MLI Select program

      • Act as “quality controller” of information databases and ensure the integrity of data provided to both senior management and third parties

      • Provide competitive intelligence and analytic insights by:

      • Analyzing information from the various database for origination volume forecasts, conversion rate analysis, CMBS pool compositions and loan performance, as well as individual transaction analysis;

      • Maintaining and enhancing various Tableau dashboards to deliver analytics interactively and comprehensively.

        • Assist the Deal Manager in all aspects of managing a CMBS Pool securitization including,

      • The coordination and organization of data collected from co-sellers;

      • Managing an efficient accountant due diligence process for RBC as well as Co-Seller loans;

      • Ensuring data integrity of all RBC loans provided for third party due diligence;

      • Ensuring that all RBC loan files are complete and ready for transfer on closing of the transaction;

        • Using modeling tools (i.e., Trepp securitization software, internally developed excel models) to provide analysis and recommendations to enhance loan structure for optimal execution and to maximize individual loan / pool profitability.

        • Assist in the development of co-sellers of CMBS securitization and relationship management of same.

        • Work on ad hoc projects to improve operational efficiency of commercial mortgage business and widen product reach.

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must-have:

      • University degree in business, commerce, finance, real estate, accounting, or related fields.

      • High proficiency in Excel, VBA, and Tableau.

      • Excellent analytical and communication skills; attention to detail is required at all times.

      • An ability to manage multiple competing priorities, a willingness to assume a high level of responsibility and an ability to work in in a fast-paced, challenging environment with tight deadlines and a demanding workload

      Nice to have:

      • Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate lending, CMBS or securitization, or database management

      • CFA candidate or charter holder
