      Associate Director Commercial - Western Sydney Airport – SSTOM (Linewide package) (12month Temporary Opportunity) (93694)

      In this role, you’ll

      • Work collaboratively with each of the respective Commercial Directors and Delivery Directors managing their own packages, to ensure uniformity of approach across the Western Sydney Airport (WSA) project within a matrix structure.
      • Be assigned to the Associate Director Commercial - Systems, Stations, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) – Linewide package.
      • Lead the provision of professional guidance across the commercial activities to achieve agreed objectives and best practice, consistency, and efficiency.
      • Ensure consistency of internal and stakeholder reporting, managing change approval papers, finance, and managing key professional services engagements for the WSA (SSTOM) Linewide package.
      • Be responsible for the commercial management of the contracts during the delivery phases.
      • Be dedicated to coaching, mentoring and developing the Commercial team.

      About you

      • Experience in leading project level advice on commercial matters during delivery phase including responses to variations, claims, notices, contract negotiations, contract risk allocation and resolution of contract disputes.
      • Experience in managing a team of commercial professionals providing leadership and direction to deliver the requirements of a contract.
      • Experience with contract management of Tier 1 Contractors in a high-profile project.
      • Comfortable working in an environment with competing priorities and management of those priorities to enable completion of projects while delivering day to day tasks in the required timeframes.
      • Proven communication and stakeholder management skills.
      • Tertiary qualifications, preferably chartered status or working towards membership.
      • Experience working on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project or Linewide Track is highly desirable.
      • A customer centric approach will set you up for success in this role, you’ll be passionate about bringing together a group of commercially astute leaders and partner with them achieve common project goals.

      The Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport Project (SM-WSA) is a 23-kilometre new metro railway connecting the Western Sydney Aerotropolis in the south with the future Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the existing St Marys station in the north.

      SM-WSA is being delivered under the Western Sydney City Deal, a 20-year partnership signed in March 2018 between the NSW and Australian governments and eight councils of the Western Parkland City, and is jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments.
