      What is the opportunity?

      The Associate Director, Credit Structures, is a specialized role within RBC Private Banking. You will deliver on the RBC promise of superior client service through efficient and dedicated support to the Directors, Credit Structures, in information gathering, credit structuring, deal negotiation, risk approval, and loan closing, in order to complete structured credit transactions for some of our largest and most complex transactions and clients.

      What will you do?

      • Support the Directors, Credit Structures, in delivering high-end relationship management and advice to high net worth Canadians, including ongoing relationship building with Private Bankers and the Private Banking Credit Structures team
      • Be a center of expertise for the Private Banking Credit Structures team for various lending products on the Private Banking platform
      • Partner with Private Bankers, Directors, Credit Structures, and Managers, Credit Structures, to gather all relevant information to conduct annual credit reviews of borrowing relationships within the Private Banking complex credit book within required deadlines
      • Leverage tools, resources, and materials related to lending practices and products to support advice and recommendations
      • Underwrite and process complex and customized credit transactions from start to finish with exceptional turnaround capabilities
      • Establish credibility and build and maintain positive, professional relationships with Group Risk Management by presenting comprehensive, high quality, and well-structured credit requests for approval

      What do you need to succeed?

      Must-have

      • University degree in related field (Commerce, Finance, etc.)
      • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
      • Strong lending experience including the ability to formulate creative lending solutions, build effective loan structures, and complete detailed analyses of complex financial statements
      • Strong client focus and negotiation skills
      • Ability to manage strict deadlines in a demanding, fast-paced environment

      Nice-to-have

      • Experience in Commercial and/or Capital Markets, including lending and account management or risk management
      • Good working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling
