      Position Information:
      UC Riverside's Auxiliary Services is recruiting for Associate Director of Finance. The full salary range for the Associate Director of Finance is $90,400 - $169,000 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $130,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

      Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Auxiliary Finance & Business Operations, the Associate Director of Finance acts as a technical leader with a high degree of knowledge and directly manages a portfolio, as well as, leads a team of Analysts in the field of financial services and financial analysis. This position supports the Senior Director and may act as a lead supporting the Finance and Business Operations unit. The position will also support all departments within Auxiliary Services and serve in a strategic leadership role to direct and develop fiscal and administrative policies for various business units and formulate long-range plans for existing and new units. The Associate Director is responsible for developing and sustaining strong financial internal controls, financial reconciliations, and timely reporting, balancing budget distribution for staffing, and managing processes for budget review and fiscal close, while overseeing day-to-day operations of the budget and financial operations.

      Requirements:

      Educational Requirements
      1. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

      Experience Requirements
      1. 6 - 10 years of related experience.
      2. Experience with budgeting, annual and multi-year, forecasting, and rate development.
      3. Experience with using on-line financial systems and data warehouses.
      4. Previous supervisory/managerial experience.
      5. Experience with general ledger review and certification.
      6. Demonstrated experience with UCR financial systems.
      7. Experience working in a higher education environment.

      3. Travel may be required, including outside of normal business hours.

      Minimum Requirements
      1. Extensive knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems, budgeting and reporting techniques, accounting and bookkeeping.
      2. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
      3. Extensive knowledge of human resource policies, practices, and planning.
      4. Client services oriented, has good listening, communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
      5. Proven ability to deal with changing priorities and direct the work of others accordingly.
      6. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels.
      7. Ability to prepare and present materials to internal and external constituents.
      8. Demonstrated ability to screen applications, interview candidates, and either make selection decisions or recommend individuals for hire.
      9. Solid understanding of financial and resource planning concepts as well as how to control organizational budgeting.
      10. Advanced skills in the use of spreadsheet and database software.

      Preferred Qualifications
      1. Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
      2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

      Custom Scope
      Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet those goals. Responsible for supervising the day-to-day unit activities. Normally directs a section or group of budget/financial/resources analysts. Oversees and participates in the most complex projects and deals directly with major department managers. Provides direction according to established policies and management guidance.
