What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support, oversee, and champion research at the organization by providing an effective environment for researchers and program teams.
- Facilitate processes and procedures for acquiring and administering research funding.
- Ensure compliance of research with federal, non-federal, and organizational regulations.
- Optimize the quality of research administration education and training in partnership with the Office of Award Management.
- Manage staffing, hiring, performance reviews, and general administrative needs for the department.
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management or related degree required (6+ years of relevant experience may be substituted).
- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Health Administration (MHA), or related Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of sponsored research management experience in a supervisory or leadership role at a nonprofit, academic health center, university, or government agency required.
- Direct experience interpreting federal and non-federal sponsor guidelines and regulations required.
- Experience with contract and grant negotiation and acceptance for sponsored projects required.
- Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive and professional demeanor.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, manage multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Research or healthcare background and knowledge of DoD system preferred.
