      The role of Associate Director -Research in the Science, Evidence and Analytics directorate will lead the exciting grant-funded research portfolio and theNICE HTA Innovation Laboratory ("HTA Lab").

      This role can be based in either our London (E20 1JQ) or Manchester (M1 3BN) office.

      Main duties of the job

      The Associate Director for Research will be responsible for leading the team that delivers a portfolio of research projects, mainly comprising of international and national grant-funded collaborative projects and priority research activities under the NICE HTA Lab initiative. The post holder will lead on developing proposals and securing further research funding to ensure continued development of a vibrant research capability within NICE. The post holder will also lead the planning and delivery of an overall research agenda to ensure NICE's policies, methods and processes remain up to date, evidence-based and fit for purpose. This will include developing proposals to the NICE Executive Team and Board on emerging challenges facing the organisation and their mitigation, using the HTA Lab where appropriate.

      In leading the portfolio of research projects, the Associate Director will engage colleagues from across NICE and collaborate with a broad range of national and international experts. The post holder will also lead on the dissemination of research outcomes to ensure appropriate adoption in NICE's work. The post holder will contribute to NICE's educational agenda, leading on the NICE Technical Forum and participating in the Internal Research Advisory Group (IRAG).

      The Science, Evidence and Analytics Directorate provides the essential foundation that underpins all NICE guidance. We're responsible for keeping NICE's methodological approaches fit for purpose. This involves not just internal development but active engagement with our stakeholders to understand what matters most to them in health technology assessment and guideline development. We collaborate on research projects to drive innovation in new methods.
