Drive the strategy for and oversee policy creation, governance, and implementation lifecycle, including the company’s overarching approach to safety policies and managing a team responsible for policy creation and implementation.
Act as the business owner for the results of policies that govern content moderation and customer support for violations of our Community Guidelines. Measure effectiveness against KPIs, drive multivariate experiments to better understand behavior patterns/trends, and iterate to enhance all areas of policy and its implementation in both services and processes.
Partner closely with our Operations, Product, Engineering, and Legal teams to design content and product policies that are industry-leading, scalable and operationally realistic.
Design and oversee a "test, measure, iterate" approach to policy development, working closely with the Trust and Safety collective to continuously evaluate and improve policies based on user feedback and data-driven insights.
Partner closely with the Product team on our "Safety By Design" product governance process, providing input on policy and compliance issues, and helping to ensure that product features are designed with safety and integrity in mind from the outset.
Identify new opportunities to enhance existing structure, services, processes and policies
Gather, analyze, and utilize relevant data and escalation trends to develop improvements to the overall escalation processes and provide recommendations for process, policy, product improvements.
Develop a deep understanding of the policy lifecycle process and productively engage with partners and stakeholders.
Shepherd the policy review process and work with partners – in legal, product, engineering, and operations – to schedule the timely rollout of policy changes. Develop an understanding of internal policies, risk mitigation strategies, and best practices related to policy creation.
Partner with Safety Support and Data Science to create and manage policies around safety incident data collection and quality standards (e.g. taxonomy creation and ongoing management).
Demonstrated experience in technology, social media, or content safety policy, including experience drafting complex policies for a global audience and handling high-profile escalations
10+ years experience in Trust & Safety
Excellent writing skills
Experience leading and managing high-performing teams
Social work experience or experience with direct service provider (e.g. crisis service provider or rape crisis center) is ideal but not required
You are willing to roll your sleeves up and write policies and manage a team
You are a thought leader in online and interpersonal safety with demonstrated expertise in protecting marginalized communities
Strong understanding of global online safety trends; can identify and mitigate policy risk areas
Excellent judgement and critical thinking skills: you can assess numerous inputs, weigh tradeoffs, manage ambiguity, and make difficult decisions

We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our Member Safety team as the Associate Director, Safety & Integrity Policies.
Working across all Bumble Inc. brands, the Associate Director, Safety & Integrity Policies will be responsible for managing a team of safety policy experts, focusing on developing content and product policies that keep our members and platform safe, welcoming and kind environment. You will do this by establishing relevant policies that govern Bumble Inc. apps and products, providing subject matter expertise across the company on the impact of technology, media and cultural trends on the safety of our members and integrity of our products.

Base Compensation Range: $130,000 - $145,000. For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location. This position is also typically eligible to participate in our short- and long-term incentive programs. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) match, Unlimited Paid Time Off Policy.
