      About the Role

      At argenx , we are driven by a mission to translate immunology breakthroughs into transformative therapies. As part of our Business Development team, the Search & Evaluation (S&E) function plays a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and advancing external innovation opportunities that align with our strategic priorities.

      We are seeking a scientifically grounded and strategically curious individual to join our S&E team. This role is ideal for a scientist looking to transition from the bench to a more externally facing, cross-functional role at the interface of science, strategy, and partnerships.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Opportunity Identification: Monitor scientific and clinical landscapes to identify emerging assets, platforms, and technologies aligned with argenx’s therapeutic focus areas.

      • Scientific Evaluation: Conduct rigorous scientific and strategic assessments of external opportunities, including literature reviews, data analysis, and competitive benchmarking.

      • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., R&D, Commercial, Legal, Finance) to drive end-to-end evaluation processes from triage to deep dive. Proven team player with good interpersonal skills to build a network of internal stakeholders

      • External Engagement: Represent argenx in interactions with biotech companies, academic institutions, and venture groups to build relationships and gather insights.

      • Deal Support: Contribute to the preparation of internal recommendation packages, valuation models, and term sheet discussions in collaboration with BD colleagues.

      Profile

      • Undergraduate degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g., biology, immunology, pharmacology) is required.

      • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) strongly preferred.

      • >5 years of experience in biotech/pharma, consulting, or academic research with demonstrated exposure to drug development or business strategy.

      • Entrepreneurial instincts and creative problem solving ability

      • Proven analytical abilities and mindset

      • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit

      • Strong communication and presentation skills

      • Fluent with Microsoft Office and other business-specific software

      • Fluent in written and spoken English
