      Overview

      IQVIA provides scientific services spanning clinical trials, real world evidence, and consulting in all areas of the product lifecycle. The Patient Centered Solutions (PCS) team leads the industry in generating data to ensure that the patient voice is incorporated into the development and commercialization of medication and other drug/non-drug interventions. We focus on understanding and meeting the needs of our clients – mostly life science/pharmaceutical companies – through the application of broad consulting expertise and technical scientific knowledge to design scientifically rigorous research. This research is broad and includes qualitative (e.g. interviews, focus groups), quantitative (e.g. clinical outcome assessments (COAs)/patient-reported outcomes (PRO), preference research) and passive (e.g. digital health technology tools) approaches to understand patient, caregiver and healthcare professional experiences and expectations of disease and treatment.

      Role & Responsibilities

      As an Associate Director in the PCS Statistics & Psychometrics group you will provide scientific advice and leadership to the statistical/psychometric analysis activities to achieve client expectations through the development, implementation, and delivery of statistical/psychometric analysis services. You will provide guidance and training for junior colleagues and contribute to PCS scientific strategy and business operations.

      Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities :

      You will be responsible for or involved in:

      • Development and validation of COAs in the context of clinical trials and/or observational studies
      • Development of COA endpoint strategies for pharmaceutical and biotech companies
      • Development of analysis plans, analysis and interpretation of COA data
      • Independent research and thought leadership activities, presentations, and preparation of manuscripts for publication
      • Influencing customers and internal teams to adapt to novel ways of thinking and paradigm shifts; breakthrough strategy development with various customer stakeholders
      • Development of customer relationships and fulfill the trusted advisor role on COA / digital COA related statistical and psychometrics topics
      • Leading quantitative analysis workstreams of projects of complex scope where an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors is required
      • Representing clients at meetings with regulatory agencies or other regulatory meetings (typically related to COA commitments).
      • Business development support activities, including proposal writing and bid defense
      • Leadership of the development and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, training and standards
      • Line management and coaching of team members

      About You


      Candidates interested in joining our Patient Centered Solutions team as an Associate Director, Statistics & Psychometrics should have:

      REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

      • Advanced knowledge of complex statistical methods that apply to Phase I-IV clinical trials (multivariate analysis, regression analysis, logistic analysis, survival analysis, mixed models repeated measures, etc) or psychometric validation methods, including classical and optionally modern test theory.
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills including grammatical/technical writing skills
      • Excellent attention and accuracy to details
      • Strong individual initiative
      • Strong organizing skills
      • Strong commitment to quality
      • Very good problem-solving skills
      • Ability to confidently communicate with and effectively present information to clients, senior management and other departments.
      • Ability to work within a global matrix team environment
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and clients
      • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple internal clients/projects competing for attention, services and resources

      MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      • A PhD or a Master degree in (bio)statistics, psychometrics, outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology or a closely related discipline
      • 5-10 years of experience in pharma/life sciences industry
      • Experience with programming SAS, R, MPlus or familiarity with implementation of statistical design and analytic methodology in other software (a plus)
