- Accountable for leading data visualisation activities - setting tasks and supervising delivery. Provide input into Data visualisation Strategy.
- Subject matter expert in complex mapping, design and testing of data mapping and visualisations. Leads quality of own deliverables and oversees quality of other visualisation developers deliverables.
- Works with business users on the definition of data requirements for intended data visualisations. Able to translate unstructured business problems into data visualisations.
- Provisions data understanding (structure, provenance, quality) to visualization customers to support use in medical review projects.
- Collaborates with multiple stakeholders on privacy and security to ensure data and information controls are in place and adhered to. Defines and manages information lifecycle in data visualisations.
- Acts as a mentor or coach for more junior staff on both delivery skills and behaviour development, and contributes to performance development reports.
- Shares insight and best practice in community forums supporting capability development.
- Personal development and training in more complex data standards, visualization and mapping techniques and tooling.
- Working with senior personnel they will contribute to development of best practice for Data Visualisation methods and technology, including technology evaluation and partnerships.
- Provides training and skill development in the best practice of data visualisations: training materials, FAQs, Playbooks and integrated operating models.
- Excellent knowledge of roles and skills of other functions in drug development.
- Contributes or leads cross-functional or process improvement initiatives.
- BSc or BA degree in an Information, Mathematical, Statistical, Computer or Life Science, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a data visualization or business role aligned to data and information management role with practical examples of performing data analysis or visualizations in terms of defining requirements, gleaning critical data elements, defining data quality criteria and checkpoints
- Domain data understanding: the structure, provenance and meaning of the source data crucial to the domain.
- Understanding of the business processes in the generation and consumption of data
- The role holder will possess a blend of data requirement analysis, data quality analysis, data stewardship skills
- Experience in translating requirements into fit for purpose data visualizations
- Experience in working in multi-skilled, multi-location data teams, working to agile principles.
- Experience in the use of metadata cataloguing tools
- Knowledge of key AZ policies and standards for data covering areas such as privacy and security.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Excellent collaboration and consultancy skills.
- Awareness of the end to end processes and activities in the build and support of Data solutions
- Experienced in applying a risk based methodology to data and information management
- Extensive SAS programming expertise (and/or other programming languages).
- Post-graduate degree in MIS, Data Management
- Leading the work of others – task setting, supervision and coaching of more junior staff
- Understanding of other programming languages (e.g. R, Java, Groovy, Spotfire, C/C++, VBA/VBS, .NET, Python, Pearl) would be advantageous.
Responsible for working as a subject matter expert in data visualisation mapping and domain data. They will be accountable
for lead data visualisation activties/projects. They will mentor more junior roles in Visualization Developer activities.
