      TITLE: Associate Director

      LOCATION: Waltham, MA

      HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (40 hours/week)

      DUTIES: Lead deep learning research activities, shaping vision and strategy, devising new methods, applying methods to current data sets and problems, and identifying unmet needs. Research and develop advanced predictive models and computational methods. Develop, implement and maintain required tools and algorithms in line with regulatory and evidential requirements within project scope. Use domain-specific understanding in computational biology, clinical bioinformatics and AI. Translate unstructured, complex business problems into appropriate data problem, model and analytical tools, and find appropriate solutions. Provide advanced data science expertise cross-functionally. Coach junior scientists. Shape delivery of data science solutions. Develop, maintain, and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology, and new developments in analytics and data science. Communicate results and research findings to scientific community within and outside the company.

      REQUIREMENTS: Must have a PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered, as a Data Scientist, or in a related position. Must have two (2) years of experience with each of the following: Designing new algorithms, methodologies and applications in deep learning domain to solve problems in translational medicine, clinical practice and drug discovery; Researching, designing and implementing generative AI models for drug discovery and patient stratification, including large language models, auto-encoders, variational auto-encoders, GANs, and transformers; Performing computational biology research using AI methodologies, including pre-clinical and clinical multi-omics, and phenotype data to generate insights in precision medicine in oncology; Developing bioinformatics pipelines and automation processes for large amounts of data, including molecular and clinical modalities from different data sources; Performing data wrangling, data management, cloud and distributed computing (AWS, AZURE and Google cloud, HPC deployment of tools using singularity or docker containers employing a micro-service framework), SQL and non-SQL databases, automation of ML processes and predictive modeling; Designing and engineering software and command line tools, APIs and UI for scientific discovery and precision medicine using Python, JavaScript, and C++ in Linux environments; Using front-end web and back-end development frameworks including Jquery, Angular2+, VUE.js, Django, Flask, and node.js; and Coding in programming languages including: Python, C++, R, JavaScript, TypeScript, BASH scripting and Java.

      SALARY: $149,949.98
