This position reports to the Director of Student Financial Systems/Bursar. This position is responsible for student accounts and retention, including third party contracts, managing student payment plans, coordinating student invoices and billing, collection of unpaid balances, cashiering, and managing assignment of accounts for collection.This position sets goals and priorities that maximize the use of resources available to consistently deliver results. This role manages staff, financial operations, and ensures adherence to university policies, state and federal regulations while fostering a collaborative environment that supports student success.
Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations including training, evaluating, and supervising full and part-time staff.
In collaboration with the Director, participate in the planning, development, and implementation of intra/interdepartmental initiatives, maintain liaison activities with other divisions, departments, or agencies to advance cooperative projects and/or programs designed to contribute to department and university goals and objectives.
Provide support to students and their families regarding student accounts and payments, educating students about their financial obligations as well as the appropriate financial resources available to them; exercises sound judgment and sensitivity when interacting with students, parents, faculty, staff, and other internal and external stakeholders; understanding policies and procedures particularly ensuring satisfactory resolution of problems escalated to the administrative level.
Manage student accounts using appropriate due diligence in the collection of outstanding balances. Manage the TouchNet payment plans, third-party billings for payment by government entities, employers, and other outside companies.
Manage the Perkins Loan Program including processing loans for government assignments. ·
Manage the processing, refunding, reporting and audits related to military educational benefits.
Participate in various student recruitment and retention efforts including Green and White day, orientation, WOW program for incoming first-year students and Count Down to Commencement. Occasional evening and Saturday work hours required.
