      We are seeking a student-centered, innovative associate educator to join our community in the 2025-2026 academic year.


      All community members work together to fulfill the school’s mission and vision, as well as meet the established goals and objectives. An associate educator supports students and families on all aspects of the grade level experience. This individual will be asked to provide instruction to students in whole group, small group, or individual settings.

They will possess or demonstrate the following: a growth mindset, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, positive energy, strong interpersonal skills, a service-oriented and team approach to work, approachability, adaptability, vulnerability, openness to new and divergent ideas, excellent oral and written communication skills, and comfort in an educational setting where children and adults are present.

      Oversight and responsibilities

      • Partner with lead teachers to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
        • Exhibit appropriate and accurate math, spelling and grammar skills
        • Help in reviewing and providing feedback on classwork and homework
        • Assist in the preparation of classroom materials
        • Assist in the planning of the weekly curriculum and instruction
        • Assist in maintaining a classroom environment that supports the learning of students with a wide range of learning profiles
        • Support academic and social/emotional growth of students in individual and small group settings
        • Reinforce and support students in upholding the Torrey Traits and all school behavioral expectations
        • Maintain ongoing communication with the lead teacher on classroom issues and individual student progress
        • Participate and/or contribute to the formal communication with parents, such as parent conferences and report writing
      • Lead group activities and lessons when needed
        • Teach small reading, math, and other intervention and enrichment groups
        • Teach lessons in a subject area that uses the associate teacher’s skills and talents
      • Partner with grade level teachers to create and maintain classroom updates and communication for families
        • Manage classroom volunteer activities and events, in conjunction with grade level team
        • Work with grade level team and room parents to organize field trips, library volunteers, and classroom party volunteer schedules
      • Supervise morning drop-off, dismissal, lunch and recess, as assigned
      • Attend staff meetings and required events
      • Engage in ongoing professional development relevant to the position

      Position Requirements

      The candidate must hold at least a bachelor’s degree. Prior teaching experience or work with children is expected. In addition, candidates must be able to:

      • Model patience, flexibility, kindness, a sense of humor, and a respect for others, and
      • Support the School and its mission, maintaining a high degree of professionalist at all times


      Expertise in the use of technology to enhance instruction and manage daily expectations as a team member is also needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, and be able to learn to use other applications and hardware (Seesaw, Apple TV, On Record, Blackboard, etc.).


      All school personnel must successfully complete a fingerprint background check through Live Scan and provide current tuberculosis clearance.


      Salary range: $45,000 - $78,000. The salary offer to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and years of experience, training, practical knowledge, and education.
