- Deliver clean, scalable, well-optimized Python code
- Work with a team of experts to determine optimal system design
- Develop sensible unit tests and anticipate edge cases
- Implement agentic workflows, from scratch where necessary
- Implement systems to scale an agentic ecosystem
- Understand the LLM landscape and help to evaluate the right tools for the right tasks
- Support multiple projects and advocate for optimal solutions
- Approach problems creatively, and mentor others to do so
- Work within constraints, including cost and security
- Multi-task and work within timelines
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and 2 years of relevant experience
- Understanding of data structures and principles of optimal algorithm design
- Experience working with foundational language models and LLM frameworks
- Deep understanding of structured outputs, output validation and other agentic concepts
The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

Purpose
AbbVie’s EPIC team is a company-internal software incubator, dedicated to building and scaling cutting-edge technology products for internal use, to enhance productivity and help AbbVie find cures faster. Our generative AI and large language model (LLM) workstream is looking for a developer specializing in building agentic AI frameworks.
