- Performs routine engineering assignments by following defined processes, procedures, and instructions.
- Works under and/or seeks guidance of experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving routine engineering, design, operation, maintenance of company assets and market optimization.
- Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems within time and budget constraints.
- Uses engineering skills and techniques to develop models and analyze data in order to recommend solutions and/or improvements in processes and programs.
- May provide field engineering assistance or technical support.
- Keeps up to date on current technology and market changes.
- Ensures environmental regulatory compliance by monitoring, reporting, developing and implementing procedures.
- Performs and recommend solutions for environmental issues based on investigations, current industry practices and consultation with experienced professionals
- Assists with the review and interpretation of environmental regulations and proposed regulatory changes to assess impact and ensure compliance
- Assists with the representation of the company on environmental issues with regulatory agencies and industry groups
- Ability to coordinate and effectively conduct environmental training
- Bachelor’s Degree in job-relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
- Individuals who will be obtaining their degree within nine months from submitting interest will be considered; however, verification of the degree will be required prior to starting in the job.

Hybrid Role: Must be able to come on-site periodically and reside a commutable distance from the assigned work location.
Emergency Response: Yes – Must be available to perform a primary assignment in support of DTE’s emergency response to storms or other events that impact service to our customers.
Job Summary
Entry level engineer or scientist responsible for routine, technical work. Requires standard application of engineering and scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria. Technical assignments are in the form of design, problem solving, and technical support for the optimum performance of environmental projects to support company goals. Participates on teams of environmental employees and internal partners, technicians, engineers and other personnel.
The position is within DTE’s environmental team and will focus on tasks and activities associated with environmental remediation and environmental due diligence in Michigan,

Other Qualifications
Preferred: Some experience through internships, education, or entry level work experience will be beneficial in any of the following areas
· Any field or other experience associated with environmental investigations such as soil sampling, water sampling, groundwater sampling, or other field experience
· Any practical experience associated with evaluating and interpreting environmental sampling data (e.g. soil, groundwater, surface water)
· Any practical knowledge or experience with the regulatory programs in Michigan that guide this work such as Michigan’s environmental cleanup or due diligence requirements
