Job Description
- Req#: 5302
- Perform specialized and long-term testing and research projects
- Development of test procedures
- Assist Test Lab supervisor as required Provide instruction to test technicians in proper test procedures and safety
- Design and construction of specialized test fixtures
- Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities with aspects related to testing and test equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
- Full working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and materials engineering and processes
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring systems (single and multiphase) and devices
- Excellent organizational skills, follow through skills and attention to detail
- A Bachelors Degree in Engineering (electrical or mechanical) or Physics
- 2+ years experience in product and materials test engineering is typically required
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical and transformer theory
- Experience with interpreting safety standards (UL, CSA, etc.), regulatory compliance and NEC
- Thorough knowledge of test equipment, tools and machining processes
