Job Description

- Analyze construction sequences to develop network model change sequences and effectively communicate with Transmission Construction Management, Transmission Engineering and Transmission Field Operations to ensure the model data accuracy
- Submittal and monitoring of ERCOT Network Operations Model Change Requests (NOMCRs) and other system change notifications
- Develop TMS ICCP/TASE.2 database updates to provide real time telemetry data to ERCOT
- Implement Oncor transmission line and auto transformer rating changes in the ERCOT Network Operations Model through developing NOMCRs
- Maintain TMS line and auto transformer rating databases and resolve rating model discrepancies between the TMS and ERCOT Network Operations Model
- Develop tools and processes for enhancing model data accuracy Support Transmission Grid Operations with modeling needs to ensure reliable and safe operation of the electrical system
- Ensure that maintenance of these models is accurate, timely and in accordance with all applicable NERC and ERCOT requirements
- Work independently and train less experienced engineers and technical specialists
- Perform other related job functions as required
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
- One year or more of applicable electric utility experience preferred
- Ability to work with moderate supervision
- Reviewing and Submitting NOMCR Diagrams to ERCOT
- Reviewing and approving ACF/ADCFs (Asset commissioning forms / Asset decommissioning forms)
- Provides engineering analysis and technical support for Oncor real-time operations in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols and Operating Guides.
- Responsibility of ensuring the computer models of the power grid are accurate in order to support the operation and stability of the high voltage power grid in Texas.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
- Two years of applicable electric utility experience preferred
- Electrical Modeling experience preferred
- Ability to work with moderate supervision
- All requirements of Associate Engineer
- Inputting ICCP values for TMS / ERCOT
- Experience in network operations modeling work preferred (EMS, NMMS, SGEM, CIM, OSI Inc. and ICCP/TASE.2)
- Strong oral and written communication skills preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills preferred
- Strive for perfect accuracy in analyzing construction sequences, translating to network model sequences and implementing model changes as an individual
- Develop tools and work processes to increase efficiency in project tracking, maintaining databases and implementing model changes for T&D Services
- Provide input to T&D Services management regarding staff work flows, system modifications, new products, and other relevant processes
- Minimal supervision required

Summary
The Associate Engineer thru Engineer has the responsibility of ensuring the computer models of the power grid are accurate in order to support the operation and stability of the high voltage power grid in Texas. The responsibilities include analyzing complex construction sequences to develop changes to the computer network model representing the bulk power grid. The complex model work will focus on the Transmission Management System (TMS) at Oncor and ERCOT’s Network Operations Model. This includes providing engineering analysis and technical support for Oncor real-time operations in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols and Operating Guides. The incumbent will analyze and implement appropriate system model sequences, develop tools and procedures to enhance the system model quality, and develop solutions to current or future system issues.
