- Operates as a legal advisor and a business partner on labor and employment matters across the enterprise spanning both corporate and front-line operations.
- Identifies and assesses legal risks and opportunities, and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of employment policies, hotlines, and reporting processes and tools complemented with ongoing skill and knowledge training related to labor and employment.
- Leads external relationships with key regulatory and labor representatives.
- Oversees outside litigation counsel and manages the third-party legal risk management relationship.
- Facilitates the escalation of complex matters to outside counsel while maintaining control over the project and process management.
- Oversees the labor relations function including the establishment and maintenance ofrelationships with union representatives. Provides counsel on the day-to-day management of team member concerns, contract grievances, oversight of arbitrations, and the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements in partnership with the Business and labor representatives.
- Leads the Team Member Relations department which spans accountabilities such as budget development and oversight, role and responsibility clarity, goal setting, performance management, team engagement, HR Community leadership, and project management.
- Establishes the collaborative Legal accountability pillar in partnership with their Associate General Counsel counterpart to provide oversight and trends of broad legal risk and growth opportunities to top leadership and to build company-wide projects that advance the direction of the business.
- A juris doctorate from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania with at least 8 years of substantive experience focused on US labor and employment matters, preferably with a mix of experience as in-house counsel with a corporate legal department and with a reputable law firm.
- Experience counseling clients and business partners by providing practical and reasoned advice.
- Legal counsel experience across the employment landscape including labor, employment, mergers, and acquisitions through a people lens, regulatory requirements at the local, state, and federal levels, compensation and benefits compliance, administrative agency responses, litigation, and ADA and FMLA administration.
- Established working regulatory and labor partnerships across a multiple-state operational footprint – particularly the Midwest/Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region.
- Progressive labor relations experience working directly with established collective bargaining agreements, negotiations, and grievance/arbitrations.
- Experience managing and developing a team in areas such as setting goals and providing role clarity, delivering performance management.
- Proven success with managing a function spanning budget or cost management, project coordination, providing advice to leadership, and managing key stakeholders.
- An ability and willingness to use technology as an enabler of work efficiency and capacity with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- An ability and willingness to travel and stay overnight for work across the ENPHG footprint when needed.
- Strong communication skills.

The inaugural team will include an Associate General Counsel – Labor and Employment and an Associate General Counsel – Corporate & Real Estate.The Associate General Counsels will work together to ensure accountability and form a legal strategy.
