- Serve as a legal advisor to the Chief Legal Officer and SVP & Deputy General Counsel, senior management and division heads on identified transactions and legal matters to support the delivery of the Games.
- Steady stream of self-directed analytical work, meetings, decision-making and drafting, including preparing, reviewing, drafting and negotiating all varieties of legal documents , legal memorandums and correspondence.
- Work closely with individual departments to anticipate, identify and manage legal exposure and risk management.
- Supervise, monitor and assist in the career development of all subordinate attorneys and paralegals, and ensure that appropriate evaluation procedures are conducted.
- Work with and supervise outside counsel on matters requiring representation.
- Work with the entire LA28 legal function to continually improve delivery of legal services.
- Perform significant projects / duties as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer and SVP & Deputy General Counsel.
- 10+ years’ experience in broad-based transactional and commercial matters required.
- Concrete understanding of contract and corporate law, and business transactional principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including outside attorneys, senior management and business associates.
- Excellent judgment, knowing when to escalate issues.
- Excellent analytical skills; capable of identifying and prioritizing issues and providing alternative solutions.
- Excellent project and time-management skills and ability to manage and prioritize changing workloads to meet deadlines.
- Positive, team-oriented and collaborative attitude.
- High level of personal integrity and professional ethics; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, & belonging (DEIB), and a deep understanding of the intersection between legal matters and DEIB related concepts and principles.
- Prior in-house experience a plus.
- Local candidates preferred.
- Undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school required.
- License to practice law, be in good standing with the California State Bar and have the ability to practice law in California.

Associate General Counsel:
The Associate General Counsel will be an integral part of the legal team, working closely with the Chief Legal Officer, Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel and broader legal department to advise LA28’s senior management on legal matters. This position will leverage negotiation, drafting, relationship-building, critical-thinking and communication skills to manage and lead key transactions in support of the planning and delivery of the Games.

This position will report to the Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel.

The annual base salary range for this position is $190,000.00 - $210,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
