  We are looking for:

  The Associate Instructor will focus on Health, Safety, and Environmental Training. They are responsible for providing training to Consumers Energy employees, virtually, in person and will assist with creating eLearns. As a Learning and Development Instructor, you will facilitate courses in the learning community and maintain consistency in Consumers Energy training practices and increase the effectiveness of the learning function.

  Knowledge/skills/and abilities:

  • Ability to facilitate and instruct a variety of class sizes from 1- 50 plus students.

  • Develop training content that is relevant and interactive.

  • Presentation, communication and writing skills.

  • Provide a caring instructional environment where learners feel safe.

  • Be agile with training and certification as well as with class content and design

  • Ability to work with heights and safety equipment involved with heights

  • Ability to work with fire, fire safety equipment and explosive gases.

  • Team Orientated

  • Bachelor’s degree in education and/or equivalent experience in Instruction

  • Previous Experience in education/training in the corporate, or academic fields a plus.

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories

  Preferred

  • HSE Certifications

  In this role, you will:

  • Support the delivery of a variety of training courses using multiple distribution platforms in order to improve individual and departmental performance.

  • Be responsible for owning a small portfolio of courses and providing applicable revisions to those courses. Ensure that all changes are communicated to other instructors.

  • Support and understand requirements around regulations (MIOSHA, OSHA, EGLE, EPA etc.) by courses, in order to ensure additions into materials.

  • Co-lead course work that builds required knowledge for certification in order to provide more HSE courses.

  • Provide updates to supported course work; include feedback and enhancements as needed.
