Arden University is a growing organisation delivering online only and blended study options to students studying towards undergraduate degrees, master’s and MBA programmes.

We have study centres in numerous locations across the UK, as well as a centre in Berlin, and a head office based in Coventry.

Based within our Library Service, Academic Skills Tutors (ASTs) are specialists who support students on all programmes and across all levels in the development of good academic skills.

Their role is key to helping our students to build their confidence and succeed on their programme of study.

This is a freelance role.

This is a blended learning role so you will be required to go into centre and teach face to face.

About you

You will have experience in supporting students in the understanding and application of a broad range of academic skills including referencing, academic writing, academic integrity (and avoiding academic malpractice), using the Library, note-taking, active listening, developing “good study habits”, contributing to discussions, reflection, time management, appropriate “netiquette”), preparing for examinations and planning assessments.

You will be an academic and must have proven experience of supporting students to develop good academic skills, along with experience of supporting students in one of the subject areas in Arden’s portfolio.

You will need excellent digital literacy skills and a clear passion to engender these in our students, as well as possessing understanding, empathy and a kind nature with the ability to support our diverse population of students.

You should be self-motivated, positive, ambitious and organised with a genuine enthusiasm and commitment to the delivery of blended and online learning.
