To support the City Football Group (“CFG”) Legal Department, CFG is looking for an individual who can demonstrate technical aptitude, a willingness to learn and a passion for the brand. In this role, you will provide day to day legal support to members of CFG’s Legal Department, with a focus on commercial contracts.

Your Impact

1. Provision of day-to-day legal support across the legal function. In particular, assist senior members of the team in proactively working with internal clients across MCFC, CFG group companies and global portfolio football clubs with the provision of legal and commercial advice.

2. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements in relation to a broad range of commercial and operational agreements, including sponsorship, procurement, IT, digital, retail, and supplier agreements as well as providing legal support for larger ad-hoc transactional and project work.

3. Providing expert, strategic and commercially focused advice to internal stakeholders.

4. Establishing effective relationships within the organisation, creating associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders.

5. Promoting best practice and consistency through formulation of precedent documentation, play books, processes and procedures.

What we are looking for

Essential

• A recently qualified solicitor or a qualified solicitor with industry experience.
• Experience and knowledge of commercial law.
• Developed drafting and negotiation skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage a varied workload across multiple areas of the law.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills, especially with non-legal business colleagues.
• Ability to build trust to achieve objectives/manage risk while maintaining strong relationships.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Proactive self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commercial acumen with an in-house mindset and ability to deliver practical solutions to problems.
• Commitment to working to CFG’s principles with respect to equality, inclusion and diversity.

Desirable

• Experience working in house.
• Experience and knowledge of commercial sponsorships.
