      Driven by our purpose to enable healthier lives everywhere, every day, Hologic's Bolder Surgical ("Bolder") facility in Louisville, CO, is seeking an Engineering Manager, R&D for its growing enterprise. You will be responsible for leading and developing cohesive teams and overseeing multiple concurrent projects. You must be versatile and flexible and can be counted on to exceed goals successfully and quickly by utilizing strategic agility and negotiation skills effectively.

      You will apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to develop teams to help resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. You will keep yourself informed of new methods and developments affecting the organization and continually work on improving best practices. You will supervise and support programs of high complexity and scope.

      So what will you do?

      As a key member of the R&D department, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks as assigned while receiving strategic supervision.

      Responsibilities:

      • Develop and implement all product development plans for new product concepts.
      • Follow product through the transition to manufacturing.
      • Hire, onboard, and train all engineering personnel.
      • Ensure products meet the requirements of customers per definition by sales and marketing.
      • Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations.
      • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop methods and processes that facilitate decisions and improve results.
      • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality products that follow governing bodies.
      • Work closely with Quality to ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System.
      • Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams to drive the best decisions for the business.
      • Ensure projects are properly resourced to achieve project and business objectives.
      • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with contract firms to support product development objectives.
      • Support department initiatives.
      • Participate in all management meetings as deemed necessary.

      Technical:

      • Technical expert in applying advanced concepts, principles, and methods to the organization.
      • Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
      • Own assigned programs of extreme complexity andscope; provide updates to management.
      • Serve as a technical specialist and create development plans and strategies for the department.
      • Ensure the department has the correct technical expertise to execute projects.

      Managerial:

      • Supervise, develop, and provide work direction to engineering staff.
      • Plan, schedule, budget, and/or coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects and is responsible for the programs within the organization.
      • Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.
      • Run department and staff meetings to ensure projects are on track and teams have the proper resources.

      Required Education & Experience

      You should have a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience including 4-6 years of research and development experience in the medical device industry.

      Additional Details

      • The annualized base salary range for this role is $114,000 to $189,900 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
      • Ability to work flexible hours.
      • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and be able to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
      • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds
