      Job Overview:

      The Associate Materials Specialist utilizes existing Material Management procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team, and they will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Material Management and Supply Chain.

      Qualifications

      Essential Qualifications and Education:

      • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management (or a relevant discipline) or HSD/GED/IGCSE with 2 years of relevant experience
      • 0-3 years of relevant experience
      • Computer literate and proficient in the use of spreadsheets and material management software
      • Mathematical Skills: the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
      • Ability to compute ratio and percentage
      • Familiar with materials, specifications, and materials requisitioning systems
      • Purchasing, requisitioning, or buying experience advantageous
      • Good interpersonal and communication skills
      • Capable of working under pressure and handling high volumes of work
      • Self-motivated, highly focused, and driven by results

      Responsibilities

      Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

      • Assist in material management activities, including receiving, locating, picking, issuing, packing, and forecasting, to ensure timely delivery to Construction/ Fabrication
      • Ensure effective communication among cross-functional Teams
      • Support with the development and accurate record maintenance
      • Accurate data entry into the Material Management System (Smart Materials)
      • Ensure proper follow-up is done to resolve any material queries for the various functions
      • Understand and consistently use Material Management procedures as established in company policies
      • Interface with Procurement and Expediting regarding material availability and delivery problems, OS&D (Overs, Shortages, and Damages)
      • Monitor material utilization and defines top-up order strategy
      • Prepare and furnish reports to the management team regularly
      • Support project requirements concerning quality, preservation, cost, and schedule
      • Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers through buyers and expeditors
      • Work with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts, and inspection requirements
