      The role:

      This position provides the rare opportunity to develop managerial knowledge and skills though the oversight of a large and diverse workforce, including the opportunity to step into the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) role. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) position allows for the development of close working relationships with managers across the organisation.

      In your role as ANUM within our Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), you'll be an experienced Registered Nurse who:

      • Works in partnership with the NUM - Nurse Staffing and Support, and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.
      • Assists the NUM with day-to-day management of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) casual and permanent pool nursing staff, casual Care Assistants, casual Assistants in Nursing, and the Roster Support Unit (RSU).
      • Assists in achieving the goals of the service, by taking a leadership role in workplace activities beyond the immediate responsibility of delivering clinical care, including active involvement in clinical education, clinical leadership and management, safety and quality, and practice development.
      • Assists in covering the NUM role when required.

      The IOC Staffing and Support team is involved in the rewarding work of supporting of patient care by achieving safe staffing through appropriate resource allocation and innovative problem solving.

      Details of Appointment

      Permanent, full time and part time, day worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

      • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

      Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

      You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

      In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

      • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
      • Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum
      • Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023

      Eligibility:

      Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

      1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

      1. Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications

      The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
