What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist patients and their families with financial clearance and payment collection
- Identify eligibility for financial assistance programs and facilitate application processes
- Provide education and make referrals for Medicaid/MediCal enrollment support
- Determine eligibility for Providence St. Joseph Health Financial Assistance
- Interact directly with patients either over the phone or in person to resolve account issues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 3 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare business office
- 2 years of experience with an automated, computerized account follow-up system, preferably in Epic
- Knowledge of reimbursement processes for healthcare accounts from insurance companies
- Previous experience with medical and health plan terminology
