      Position Details: Under the direction of Manager, Risk Controlling, this role monitors credit losses and exposure, and conducts related root-cause analysis to manage credit risk of HCCA’s portfolio. This position will monitor both internal and macroeconomic trends, and will utilize this information to forecast the impacts on HCCA’s portfolio performance. It will also support on the build-out of risk’s data environment, automate existing analytic and data processes, maintain the automation with maintenance programming, and create new reporting if necessary. In addition, this role will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing collection performance by supporting the maintenance of collection segmentation models.

      Duties and Responsibilities:

      1. Portfolio Reporting & Analysis

      • Prepare monthly portfolio performance reports
      • Coordinate with Collections and other Operations teams to identify drivers related to portfolio performance metrics (ex. Delinquency, Charge-off, Recovery, etc.)
      • Monitor portfolio demographic trends to identify segments of concern. Work with other Risk functions to determine if actions need to be taken to ensure the health of the portfolio
      • Prepare vintage analysis on a quarterly basis to track early performance indicators
      • Support evaluation of allowance for loan and lease losses
      • Analyze and quantify month-over-month changes in allowance for loan and lease losses (ALLL)
      • Prepare and present findings at monthly review meetings with internal and external stakeholders
      • Evaluate and reconcile data to ensure data integrity

      2. Credit Risk Forecasting

      • Lead the monthly financial projection and annual business planning of credit risk metrics
      • Monitor macroeconomic trends that may have an impact on HCCA’s portfolio performance
      • Prepare summaries of key macroeconomic indicators each month to present to internal stakeholders (such as unemployment rate, GDP, CPI, used car market, etc.)
      • Generate an overall outlook for HCCA’s portfolio performance and incorporate your expectations into relevant Risk models

      3. Risk-based Collections Strategy

      • Monitor and manage the Collection segmentation model to support the queuing and channel management strategies implemented by the Operational Excellence team
      • Evaluate the effectiveness of different segmentation strategies to determine ways to improve Collection performance
      • Utilize machine learning tools to continually enhance the segmentation model in order to adapt to the changing macroeconomic and business environment

      4. Other project-based tasks

      • Provide analytical support on special projects or assignments as required
      • Prepare dashboard and ad-hoc reporting for senior management and/or regulatory compliance as needed.

      -2+ years of experience in Risk Management or related functions within Financial Services

      - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative experience

      - Experience in SAS or SQL required

      - Strong analytic skills and a good eye for detail

      - Strong PC skills; MS office, SAS, SQL, and relational database concepts

      - Solid oral and very good written communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to multiple levels

      - Ability to understand business objectives and their relationship to the importance of individual projects
