      The One Global Ledger (OneGL) Program is a large, complex, and dynamic program that is focused on the delivery of a global solution for the Liberty Mutual Finance organization. The OneGL landscape will be focused on the implementation of the SAP application suite as the core Finance and Treasury system. The SAP modules will include the General Ledger, the Financial Product Subledger (FPSL), Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, Treasury Risk Module, Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM), and Reporting.

      The Corporate Strategic Projects team is looking for an experienced Associate Product Owner with strong financial knowledge and analysis skills, experience with financial reporting, bookclose, and familiarity with allocation work, such as cost allocation methodologies. This role will help lead and perform various finance and system analysis to support our OneGL SAP S4 Hana finance system transformation journey and be part of the Record-to-Report workstream which includes the General Ledger, PaPM (allocations), Reporting, and Consolidations. This position will also work with Global Finance Technology to review requirements and testing. This work will be executed under limited direction from aligned Product Owner/Functional Lead, Delivery Lead, and Record to Report lead to drive toward the delivery of allocations for OneGL in SAP PaPM.

      With limited guidance, the Associate Product Owner will work closely with all stakeholders to maximize the value of development through definition and prioritization of features and stories to ensure alignment with customer and organizational goals, and research and define external constraints on the squad/team (e.g. regulatory and compliance approvals). Additionally, may perform Product Owner tasks such as reviewing and writing user stories of lower risk and complexity, and participate in defining and prioritizing the product backlog.

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead efforts such as driving workshops, sprint planning, and execution related to the delivery of the Record-to-Report SAP S/4 modules within the larger OneGL program e.g. General Ledger, PaPM, Reporting or related integrations.
      • Lead and perform various financial analysis and research task to support OneGL SAP S4 Hana Record-to-Report process transformation.
      • Supports creating and maintaining the backlog (including prioritization, and acceptance criteria).
      • Contributes to squad/team planning and sets expectations for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
      • Participates in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies.
      • With guidance, works daily with the Agile working group, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy.
      • With guidance from the Product Owner, monitors and maintains the product health, supporting long-term product viability and efficiency.
      • May analyze feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, and other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product.
      • Conducts research into regulatory, compliance and other industry constraints on the product. Negotiates with squads/teams within the portfolio to ensure priorities are aligned during a sprint.
      • With a guidance, supports building the product roadmap at the squad/team level based on strategy and ongoing input from stakeholders.

      Qualifications

      Qualifications:

      • Solid Finance and Accounting knowledge and ability to leverage advanced Excel functions required.
      • Experience with General Ledger, Financial Reporting or Allocations processing is preferred, experience with SAP Finance is a plus.
      • Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills; effective team building skills.
      • Proven ability to lead a project from requirement gathering through project close out. Proficiency with agile/project management tools (e.g. Jira, Power Point, Excel).
      • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.)
      • 3-5 years of experience in business, technology, or consulting
      • 1 year direct experience with agile teams a plus
      • Ability to develop strong working relationships and able to influence others and build consensus with cogent arguments
      • Experience communicating moderate to complex ideas, issues and designs
      • Ability to operate with incomplete information and make timely decisions
      • Problem solver with ability to lead a team
      • Experimental mindset with demonstrated willingness to learn and experiment
